Dr. K. Narayanaswamy (“Dr. Swamy” to most) is an experienced researcher, software professional, mentor, and entrepreneur. He specializes in AI, machine learning, data science/analytics. As Chief Technology Officer of CalQLogic, he has led sizable R&D projects sponsored by major Federal agencies including Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), National Science Foundation, and several others. Using these R&D projects as seed, his team was instrumental in building and launching the TriggerWare real-time, smart data analytics and automation platform. The product is deployed in data-driven decision-making situations in pharma/life sciences, supply chain, IoT, and retail applications. In addition, Dr. Swamy has a vast array of consulting and mentoring relationships in many large enterprises as well.
Prior to CalQLogic, Dr. Swamy was a Research Scientist at USC/Information Sciences Institute for 10 years, where he focused on applying AI methods to software development and prototyping. Dr. Swamy has authored 5 US Patents and published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in conferences and journals in the field of data analytics, software prototyping and software engineering. He is a noted public speaker on technical and business matters related to AI and machine learning.Finally, Dr. Swamy is Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Loyola Marymount University where he has taught many courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and AI using Distributed Multi-Agent Systems. Dr. Swamy received his BTech degree in Electrical Engineering in 1978, his MS in Computer Science from University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1985.
