The IIT Madras HTIC Medtech Incubator is excited to initiate the “Knowledge Tuesday” series. The aim of this series is to bring subject matter experts from different domains to share insights on the upcoming trends, technologies and bottlenecks .Weekly dose of knowledge to further empower the entrepreneurs/ start-ups to acquire and develop on their existing knowledge on different aspects of entrepreneurship. The Knowledge Tuesday will be hosted every Tuesday.

Dhanuraj (Raj) Shetty – Managing Director, RAD Consulting (LinkedIn)

Raj currently is the Managing Director at RAD Consulting where he consults with global healthcare startups with strategy and fund raising. Raj’s original training and experience is in plastics engineering and polymer science and he has over 20 years of Corporate and venture philanthropy experience in the healthcare sectors. Raj has executed transactions for research collaborations, joint ventures and formation of new companies and has played key role in valuation, complex structuring, negotiation of contract and alliance management.

Prior to forming his own consulting firm, Raj recently was at CARB-X as the Accelerator Lead where he supported CARB-X funded companies via the Accelerator network and was also instrumental in creating an operational framework for the Global Accelerator network and bringing together global teams in moving the antimicrobial research field forward. Before joining CARB-X, Raj was the Senior Director of Strategic Alliances and Partnership at The New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute and was responsible for managing collaborations and external facing research partnerships. While at JDRF International he was responsible for research business development roles and industry partnerships and alliances. He also has over 12 years of industry experience, that included his time at KCI (now Allergan) and ten years at Johnson and Johnson where he was leading research programs in the field of Regenerative Medicine.  In addition, he has seven issued US Patents.  

Fatima Boumares – Co-founder & Chief clinical officer, MyLoop 

Fatima has a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Development and Master of Science in Health Engineer, she has 12 years’ experience within Product Development (Medical device and Medication) started her career as Clinical Research Associate , Clinical Project Manager then cardiovascular Clinical Field Expert, Head of Clinical Operation, Clinical affairs manager and program leader working for medical device companies that develop innovative products in various therapeutics areas and indications.

With an entrepreneurial mindset, Fatima use her skills and work as consultant for clients in the EU and USA to support them building their product development strategy, from the proof of concept to the market, set up of business plan and development plan to support fund raising, and clear presentation of the innovation, the development strategy and regulatory pathway with timelines and budget estimation. Fatima joined Myloop on September 2019 as co-founder Chief clinical officer.
